Today is November 1st which means NaNoWriMo has officially begun! *cue dramatic music* This morning I woke up at before 7 AM to begin writing my novel Cursed. (I can't remember the last time I woke up that early on a weekend).
My goal each day is to write 2,000 words. Today isn't over and I've already written 3,530 words! Time for a dance break a la the Columbian soccer team.
To celebrate, I've decided to participate in Snazzy Snippets and share a small snippet of Cursed with all of you.

Snazzy Snippets
What: It’s an opportunity for writers! Every two months, Alyssa @ The Devil Orders Takeout and and Emily @ Loony Literate post a prompt or question for you to share a snippet of less than 500 words. It’s designed to let you have fun, analyse your work on a smaller level, or just write something to join in.
This month's themes:
A snippet without dialogue
or
A snippet featuring a friend/family member
or
A snippet that took FOREVER to write
A snippet without dialogue
It wasn’t
long before she found herself halfway across the third bridge whose nickname
was Last Chance. The middle of the bridge served as an unofficial border
between the eastern and western halves of Harrowick, the respectable and the
seedier sides of the city. On the eastern edge of the bridge stood the city
jail and on the western half lay a tavern frequented by criminals. If the royal
guards caught a criminal on the western side of the city, they often
transported the unlucky soul across Last Chance Bridge to be imprisoned in the
jail. After a criminal named Slippery Pete broke free as the guards escorted
him across the bridge and escaped by jumping off the bridge into the Adaleigh,
the bridge gained fame as a criminal’s last chance to escape.
Cyndra paused for a moment at the center of the bridge, just as she always did, and murmured Slippery Pete's last words under her breath.
